 The finishing process by reamers from TAKEZAWA-SEIKI uses a countless number of abrasive grains to polish continuously. This makes it possible to reduce the amount of force applied to each individual abrasive grain, thereby achieving a highly accurate machining surface with a minimal number of affected layers*.

 

*Affected layers:Surface layers that have been materially altered by the application of mechanical and thermal energies. Since residual stress remains in the affected layers, it is not merely a machining accuracy issue but a problem from the perspective of corrosion resistance.

Diamond and Borazon CBN Reamers

 Tools made of diamonds and borazon CBN generally have a long life, since they are four times more abrasive resistant than common grinding stones. It is possible to create a reamer that has both high precision and long life by controlling the dimensions and arrangements of the abrasive grains to suit the work materials. The photograph depicts a reamer with the most abundant track record among the reamers of TAKEZAWA-SEIKI, which is capable of not only handling ordinary materials such as carbon steel, but also materials difficult to polish, such as stainless steel.

Digital Cut Bore Finisher: A Newly Developed Reamer with Almost Zero Clogging

  • Compatible with soluble coolants and is possible to be processed in an environmentally friendly manner.
  • A reamer specializing in the handling of materials difficult to polish, with a machining accuracy that features a roundness of 0.5μm and a surface roughness of 0.5s.

 

 A special bonding method of TAKEZAWA-SEIKI is used to embed the diamond grains at pitched intervals to reduce clogging by the chips to almost zero. Minimal clogging occurs even when soluble coolants are used for processing, making this new type of reamer suitable for environmentally friendly processing.

TAKEZAWA-SEIKI resolves the problems of the customers by offering reamers of various shapes and forms.

 TAKEZAWA-SEIKI designs the tooth points and shapes of reamers by considering not only the materials and the required accuracy but also the expulsion of chips, permeability of the cutting oil, and other such machining conditions.

Expansion Type

 The tool shank and cutting blade section are integrated, with dimensional adjustments made using a tapered cone built inside the cutting blade section. This is the most common type of reamers available from TAKEZAWA-SEIKI.

Non-Expansion Type

 These reamers have fixed dimensions and are fabricated with dimensions suitable for the use of the client in increments of 0.01 mm. Boring can be performed from 5,000 to 20,000 times depending on the machining conditions

Expansion Reamer Division Type

 The cutting section and the tool shank are separated in these reamers. The dimensions are adjusted and fixed by hammering on the tapered section of the tool shank.
